'Down Under' (Red Kangaroo)

This was one of my favourites. The subject was a gorgeous male Red named Boomer, a resident of Steve & Terri Irwin's Australia Zoo. The Red Kangaroo is an amazing sight in the wild, some of the males reach 8 foot tall, & the colours are a perfect match to Australia's Red Centre. Kangaroos are often seen in suburban areas of Australia, particularly golf courses, but they are usually the slightly smaller grey Kangaroos. The Reds live in the outback, and aren't nearly so tame.
