I enjoyed painting this one. I always like painting water, but I loved how you can see the 'volume' of the water beneath the bird. The picture itself is about the difference between surface appearance & the hidden reality that always lies 'beneath the surface'. I seem to return to this theme a lot. I don't know why. I'll hire a therapist & get back to you!
