'The Lookout' (Meerkat) |

The Meerkat, or Suricate, is a small member of the Mongoose family. As such it has no fear of snakes & bravely attacks all comers. Its main danger comes from above, with eagles often carrying off an unwary youngster. Meerkats live in family groups with a lookout always posted to keep an eye out for trouble. If trouble arrives, it has a vocabulary which can describe the type of threat to its family members. This painting is the only one of mine which hangs in my home, as it belongs to my wife. She would keep them all, but hey, she cant afford them! |
